Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

The last several mornings I did not have time to spend with my children in God’s word.  However, once I picked my youngest up from school I knew that she needed to lean on the Lord for joy.  Sometimes disappointments come into our lives that can cause us to be sad, but we have to look beyond those disappointments and reach for the joy that the Lord says is ours.   If you are facing a disappointment, or sadness, then lean on the Lord today.

Before church on Sunday, I decided to burn a huge pile of leaves that I had in my burn pit. As I lit the leaves and watch the smoke raise, something that a friend said several weeks ago came back to me, “I was born in the fire and the smoke won’t do.” I had never heard that phrase before so I ask her about its origins. She told me that she had heard it said by her mother many times throughout her childhood. It was one of those saying that our grandparents and great grandparents had grown up saying.

As I watched the leaves struggle to catch fire, the Lord started to speak to me. The more I pushed those leaves around, trying to build up the fire, the more my spirit tuned into what Jesus was saying. The Lord said “I have been living in the smoke and that it is time to live in the fire.” I knew exactly what was being said. I had allowed the stuff of my life to weigh me down. Just as deep and wide as that pile of leaves was my pile of hurts and worries were equally deep and wide. I was and am a child of God, but I had allowed my circumstances to take away my joy. I was saved, but I was not walking in the joy of the Lord or the power that God says comes when we follow after Him. I was not walking in the peace that surpasses understanding. And as I stood there moves those leaves around, I knew that I could not live a life in the smoke any more. I wanted the fire! So God and I started our conversation. He started to show me how to live in the fire and now I want to share with you what He showed me.

Today November 24th, 2012 at 2:06pm eastern time, I am right where I am supposed to be. Thank God for my past, because I am allowing it to make me into the person God has called me to be. However, just as hard as I am pushing on to the prize in my Lord Jesus, the enemy is trying to pull me back. Satan, the enemy of our soul, tries to throw everything he can at God’s children to cause us to stop moving towards a greater life in Christ. Today, I take a stand and say “I will be all that God called me to be!”

1 Peter 2:24

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” (KJV)

Today I needed God to touch my children and we are standing on His word. God’s word does not come back void. God’s word is more powerful than anything on this earth. So today if there is something that you need from God, find the answer in the Bible and stand on that. Faith in God’s word brings the miraculous into your life.

Isaiah 12:1-3

” And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” (KJV)

Even when we did not know God or we chose to turn on backs on God, He still loved us. To know that God is ALWAYS there for us, I can’t even really began to imagine. Remember, God is there for you. If you will lean on Jehovah for your strength and understanding in ever situation, He will guide you through.
